Secret Islands of the Aegean Sea Greece and Turkey aboard Le Levant |

Leaving the mighty Bosphorus and silhouettes of Istanbul’s mosques behind, you
cast off to discover the beautiful port of call as Kusadasi, Bodrum and Rhodes.
Further, the sombre shape of Santorini stands out against an azure blue sky, a natural port dominated by impressive
cliffs where the alleyways have preserved all their authentic charm and traditional
architecture. Next port of call is Athens as the splendid profle of the Acropolis
looms up on the horizon - you are in Greece, a land of a thousand legends.
KUSADASI
Kusadasi was once a small fishing village and today is one of Turkey’s most famous seaside resorts. Despite a history dating back 3000 to years BC, Kusadasi itself has no ruins. Yet because of its position is an ideal jumping off point for the archaeological site of Ephesus which houses one of the seven wonders of the world, the temple of Artemis.
RHODES
Magnificent sites and monuments make this a magical island. Blessed with a lovely mild climate, rhodes invites you to explore its pathways, immaculate tiny villages and its fabulous medieval citywhich is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Rhodes also owes much of its charm and character to the Knights of St. John who ruled the island from 1310 to 1522 and built the impressive city walls and picturesque gates.
BODRUM
Bodrum, the white town where Herodotus was born, was built to replace the ancient city of Halicarnassus at the beginning of the first millennium BC. Today it offers visitors a sinuous coastline of wonderful beaches and picturesque islands. Proudly standing on a rocky promontory in the heart of the bay, the 15th century Castle of St Peter was built by Knights of the Order of Hospitallers of St John, a monastic military order and ancestors of the Knights of Malta.
SANTORINI
A natural port surrounded by cliffs, the ancient site of Thera is circular in shape corresponding to the collapsed centre of the volcano which erupted here. Indeed, this cataclysmic event was probably behind the Atlantis myth and numerous other legends and tales from ancient manuscripts.
MYKONOS
Queen of the Cyclades with its white mills, labyrinth of whitewashed alleyways and quaint little port where boats bob lazily at the foot of the terraces, Mykonos never fails to inspire. One of the most romantic spots is the colourful “Little Venice” district where the houses are built right on the sea giving it a special ambiance. Let yourself be tempted by the numerous taverns which line its seafront opposite the old port.
