Popular Mediterranean destinations and a fresh breeze of history: Dubrovnik – Civitavecchia (Rome) aboard Sea Cloud II
9 Days / 8 Nights • Aug. 20, 2012
Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik/Croatia
Embarkation on the Sea Cloud II.

Kotor/Montenegro
Some 2,300 years ago, the strategic location of the deep fjord and the protected bay were discovered by seafarers as a good place to drop anchor. Since then, history has been immortalised in stone in Kotor. The town and bay have been designated a Natural and Cultural World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
City walking tour.*

Gospa od Skrpjela/Montenegro
Just where the steep cliffs of the bay widen a little, there are two little islets. On one of them stands a medieval church.

Otranto/Italy
Lecce’s baroque townscape is defined by its white-gold shimmering stone, which is similar to marble. Its magnificence gave the town its nickname of the “Florence of the South”.
Excursion to Lecce.*

Saranda/Albania
The UNESCO World Heritage Site at Butrint is an archaeological dig, only one-fifth of which has so far seen the light of day. One of the spectacular finds is the Lion Gate that dates back to the fourth century BC.
Excursion to the Butrint archaeological excavations.*

Naxos (Taormina)/Sicily
Europe’s largest active volcano is over 3,000 metres high and is covered in snow almost all year round. From Taormina you can see its majestic silhouette in the distance. On a cable car trip, its many craters seem close enough to touch.
Excursion to Mount Etna including cable car trip or tour to Castelmola and Taormina.*

Capri, Italy
At the time of the Roman Empire, Capri was already a jewel of nature, becoming the summer residence of Emperor Tiberius. Discover the island at your own pace, following in the footsteps of Caesar, devoting yourself to its natural beauty or simply enjoying summer life on the island.

Civitavecchia/Italy
Individual departure.

Itinerary subject to change!
* These excursions are not included in the cruise-only rate.
