Piraeus/Greece
Embarkation on the Sea Cloud II
Katakolon/Greece
Olympia in Greece was the venue for the Olympic Games of
the ancient world. More than five metres of sand covered
the famous site when excavations began in 1766. Many
cult buildings and sports grounds from the time can still be
marvelled at today. Excursion to ancient Olympia, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.*
Corfu/Greece
By the end of the 19th century, Corfu had become a popular
holiday destination with the aristocracy. One of them, the
Austrian Empress Elisabeth, better known as Sissi, spent
several weeks a year here in her own palace, the Achilleion.
After her death, it belonged to the German Emperor Wilhelm II. Visit to the Achilleion and walk through
the old part of the town.*
Dubrovnik/Croatia
The whole of the old part of
Dubrovnik has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since
1979. Known as Ragusa, it was once the main rival of the Venetian trading empire and was famous for its impregnable looking fortress. The fortress is still standing,
and today, cheerful summer life takes place in a magnificent medieval setting behind its thick walls.
Korcula/Croatia
Numerous architectural treasures are protected by the
strong Venetian walls of the friendly town of Korcula.
Hvar/Croatia Hvar, too, was once an in-
fuential area in the proud Doge republic of Venice. The
charming bathing resort invites you to take an evening
stroll through its quaint little streets.
Venice/Italy
